Today we celebrated Molly’s first birthday! It’s mind-blowing to think that it’s been a whole year since she entered our lives. It’s been the best year of my life – challenging at times, but beautiful nonetheless. I can’t imagine my life without little Molly. Even just writing this makes my heart feel full of love and pride, I know that sounds incredibly cringe-worthy! We decided to celebrate Molly’s first birthday with our families, as these are the people who are most important to Molly (and us). We wanted to do something a little bit different and I thought afternoon tea would be a lovely idea! It didn’t take me very long to think of a venue. Chris and I used to live in Lostwithiel and we regularly used to visit The Duchy of Cornwall Cafe for lunch or tea and cake. Everything tastes so fresh and delicious. We definitely made the right choice for Molly’s tea party – the afternoon tea was just perfect.
The table was decorated so beautifully. The staff also left a birthday card for Molly on the table – such a lovely touch.
The cakes and sandwiches were incredibly moreish and there was plenty to go around, we actually took some home!
We finished the tea party with MORE CAKE! However, we didn’t actually eat any of this, we dished it out for everyone to take home. There was no way any of us could have eaten any more cake! Molly had such a lovely time and everyone commented on how amazing the food was. All of the staff were very helpful and accommodating to our dietary requirements and last minute changes. Definitely recommend popping in to the Duchy Cafe if you’ve never been before.
