Loveday’s – Healthy Breakfast spot in Cornwall

Loveday’s, in Charlestown, recently invited me down to try out their healthy breakfast options. It was great to see a restaurant which offers healthy alternatives to the traditional cooked breakfast. I’ve always enjoyed breakfast, it’s most definitely my favourite meal of the day. I can’t understand people who say they don’t eat breakfast. I always find the time. I rarely go out for breakfast as I tend to go out for lunch or dinner instead, but it was lovely eating out for breakfast. In fact, Chris and I said we will now do it more often.

Loveday’s couldn’t be in a better location, Charlestown is a beautifully historic little village and harbour. You also have the added bonus of seeing where Poldark was filmed! Anyway, back to Loveday’s (mustn’t get side tracked by images of shirtless Aidan Turner). When entering the restaurant, it’s clear that a lot of hard work had gone into the design and layout. I loved the modern rustic design and splashes of nautical decor – very fitting!

Loveday’s are definitely up to date with the health trends, as one of their options is an acai bowl – very popular! Especially on Instagram! My partner chose the acai bowl topped with homemade granola and I had homemade muesli topped with yogurt and fruit compote. I tried both and they were equally delicious. I love the fact they use homemade granola and muesli, as you know it’s not full of processed rubbish. Additionally, the flavours of both breakfasts were balanced very well – not too sweet, but just right. Even Chris enjoyed the  non-fried healthy breakfast, which totally surprised me! He liked it so much that he wants me to make something similar at home.

collageSo if you’re looking for somewhere to go for breakfast in Cornwall, I would definitely recommend popping into Loveday’s. Not only will you thoroughly enjoy the healthy bites they have to offer, you’ll be swept away by the stunning interior and charming scenery of Charlestown. They open from 9:30 for breakfast. However, they also offer a great lunch and evening menu, have a look at their website here.
